Maria Francesca Pepe A/W’15: #backfromthefuture Edith ZamoraMay 20, 201519 viewsFashion0 Comments19 views Maria Francesca Pepe A/W’15 spaceship has landed on a galaxy made of bright metallic landscapes, pearlescent perspex and cream pearl satellites. Reminiscent of sci-fi 90’s movies, the vintage arcadia and cyber-hallucinated visions, #MFPepe’s ‘Out Of This World’ collection tells the story of a space venture as a metaphor of a renovated state of mind. Maria Francesca Pepe creations subvert the idea of fashion jewellery once more, bringing #backfromthefuture an aesthetic revolution through to the brand’s signature pop approach to design. Pixelated ‘invaders’ from outer space travel through the technicolour world of Maria Francesca Pepe’s A/W’15 jewellery, taking the shape of precious vermeil charms on delicate chains, and gold studs sewn on techno-fluorescent hand-knitted headbands and hip-hop style beanies. Microchip cyber-patterns are engraved on colourful perspex and encrusted with multi shaded crystals. The pearlescent heart-shaped video game remote controller becomes the next iconic pendant for audacious metallic eco patent-leather punk chokers and long chunky chains.Cut–out pixel lettering tags spelling GAME/OVER and PLAY/LOVE are mounted on leather strips and drop earrings. A multitude of colourful three-dimensional pendant spaceships adorn rings, cuffs and necklaces, as well as the novel version of the House’ iconic articulated ring: now an inventive, heads-turning, space age-inspired piece. This statement and playful range is completed with a classic-chic and deco-inspired themed line, where the futuristic settings are constellated with fluctuating satellites made of pearls, orbits and crystals, hence reinventing the brand’s signature stackable sets of hoop earrings, double rings and inter-locking cuffs. Unconventional and deeply imaginative, #OutOfThisWorld includes several themes and we can’t get enough of each piece. Edith Zamora The line also includes an exclusive collaboration with footwear brand ‘Joshua Sanders’, #MFP4JS to get involved. Click here to visit the website.
