This year it’s back and it’s much bigger. This three day festival this year will run over the 4th July weekend and will present an array of world class musical talent across five different stages indoors and out, including the return of the Sweet Home Alabama stage. Maverick Festival is a celebration of Americana roots, music from both sides of the Atlantic, presenting music, comedy, dance, film and workshops. Set amongst the picturesque Victorian farm buildings of Easton Farm Park, where the site is nestled deep in the Suffolk countryside. The festival announced new additions to the bursting festival line-up; including Ben Folke Thomas, The Dirty Beggars & Lewis & Leigh. Maverick is also thrilled to welcome the highly respected Woody Guthrie interpreter Joel Raphael; who has recorded and performed with the likes of Jackson Browne over his 50-year career in Folk music. The festival line-up also now includes, alternative singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer from Australia and one of Lucinda Williams’ favourite artists, Anne Mc’Cue. Another exciting addition is Scottish outfit, The Dirty Beggers, who wowed audiences at Celtic Connections Festival with their own take on down and dirty bluegrass. Lewis & Leigh, Al Lewis and Alva Leigh who have been attracting major radio play with their harmony driven sound that draws from a heritage that spans the Deep South and the Welsh coast, will also be performing over the weekend. On Friday 3rd July Clubhouse Records takes over the Maverick Festival’s famous Peacock stage for their never ending Rolling Revue, a six hour ramble through an incredible night of Americana, Roots and Alt- country music… Plus there will be whiskey tasting! Leading through the evening is an incredible bill featuring Case Hardin, The Dreaming Spires, Don Gal- lardo and friends, The Rosellys and Paul McClure’s songwriter’s sofa with special guests Simon Stan- ley-Ward and Emma Swift. The evening will be closed out in the company of The Clubhouse All-Stars paying tribute to the great American(a) songbook – not to be missed. In a nod to the fiftieth anniversary of the 1965 Newport Festival when Dylan went electric, there will be a screening of The Other Side of the Mirror, the film documenting the controversial performance when Bob plugged in and the audience tuned out. Veteran producer Joe Boyd who was there at the mixing desk will share his recollections and host a Q&A. Making this an unmissable treat for Dylan fans.
