Rebecca Ellis Onyett: Embellishment and Beyond

Anatomy obsessive Rebecca Ellis Onyett, is the London based Jeweller who will soon need no introduction.

This self-taught taxidermist and founder of REO JEWELS is taking the jewellery world by storm with her debut collections inspired by the chaotic world we live in.

Onyett studied Jewellery at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester and graduated last year with a first class BA Honours degree.

When asked about her work, she stated: I am also interested in the stories of how life ages, how it decays or is preserved through taxidermy, which seeks to preserve life by celebrating death: it is a strange half-life, a suspension.

Juxtaposed with this I enjoy the way Insects, destroy this illusion: they feed on death, breaking down, demolishing, creating movement from a silent arrangement, forcing change and action.”

Rebecca merely wants to create beautiful things and Embellishment and Beyond is proof of that. She is a rare young talent who has a voice, an attitude and a passion for creation. Rebecca doesn’t just make jewellery: she makes an experience.
