Rihanna Collaborates With Dior On Sunglasses Collection

Rihanna has added another fashion achievement to her name with a new Dior sunglasses collection. The multi-awarded singer’s recent fashion collaboration with Dior has resulted to a new sunglasses collection. Rihanna, who also serves as the brand’s ambassador, has recently designed a line of futuristic looking sunglasses. The collection has been named “Rihanna” and features only one style with a reflective frame and mirrored lenses. The soon-to-be-released “Rihanna” Dior sunglasses will also available in six different colours. The pink, blue, green, red and silver styles will be available in the market for $840 (around £570). However, the 24-karat gold-plated style will retail for $1,950 (£1300).

In a Dior statement, it has been revealed that Rihanna’s inspiration for the Dior sunglasses project was the “Star Trek” character Georgi La Forge, as stated in the same report. The singer explained that she has “always been obsessed” with the said character’s eyewear. The “Work” crooner even commented that the whole idea “just came together” after she saw all the materials available during a visit at Dior. Rihanna also described the design process as “pretty seamless.” It appears that the creative part of the process was completed in just one day. Rihanna stated that she kept on drawing various designs until she came up with something that she was happy with. “The Dior team illustrated it for me right then and there. We picked materials and colours that same day, and after that it was a matter of weeks before I saw the first prototype,” the singer shared.
