At the heart of everything that the British fashion brand Semple does – is style. The brand recognised an emerging trend for co-ordinates and with a passion to work with new British talent, their collaboration with designer Laura Ralph was created. Driven by unique aesthetics and their sartorial eye, The Semple Collection is a limited edition range of exclusive women’s clothing. Sourcing prints from the Olga Hirsch collection of decorated end papers from the world famous British Library, The Semple Collection is not only an on-trend must-have but also a statement about wearable, cultural history. Motivated by women’s fashion stories, the Maggie Semple launched MSL Ltd in 2010 coinciding with the publication of her book: ‘Semple: Women Fashion Stories’. This sparked the creation of the blog ‘Women Fashion Stories’ and the magazine ‘Semple’ in 2012 alongside other projects.

With Laura Ralph’s flair for vintage pieces and Hirsch’s unique prints, The Rosalind, The Olivia and the Helena, the collection blossomed into an exclusive range of boldly patterned dresses with matching hair scrunchies. The Rosalind pattern is a warm and gentle auburn with a darker reddened subtle patterning, in perfect symmetry of the autumn season whilst the bolder and brighter Olivia pattern with bright yellow background and blossoming red roses complements the coming of spring creates an optimistic, sunny spring to an outfit. The Helena pattern replaces the previous bold 50s home look with a more intricate, Oriental feel; the gentle pale pink background with delicate light blue bunches of flowers inspire a wintery touch and offer both a rich and distinctly feminine finish. These distinctive designs are offered on three possible outfits from a simple-cut dress, to a club-night short top and trousers and the more quirky figure-hugging top and skirt or shorts.
