Designer Spotlight: Slow Factory by Celine Semaan Vernon

Slow Factory build sustainable essentials that are built to last, the brand believes in creating timeless pieces with the world in mind. Their sustainable essentials are handcrafted and consciously made with craftspeople all around the world. Slow Factory is the link between our world and galaxies whose distance reaches places beyond our imagination. The founder, Celine Semaan Vernon come from a land of chaos: Beirut, Lebanon. Ever since she was a child, they moved around, traveling from Beirut to Paris to Montreal. 

Throughout it all, the stars always guided her travels and imagining space became a way to ground her. The designer always felt comforted by the constant presence of the stars, that’s why she started Slow Factory. Inspired by NASA’s open data images of satellites and telescopes and by collaborating with other artists, our images of our World and our Universe were created to be a reminder of how we can find beauty and connection in the cosmos. Now that Celine Semaan Vernon made a home in New York, the bright city lights make it harder to see the stars.  But if she can help people feel a little more connected with her cosmic silk prints, she will be happy knowing that she’s made a small impact in a really big way.
