From the Sretsis sisters (note that Sretsis is ‘sisters’ spelled backwards), began at their New York apartment sewing their prom dresses and are now at the forefront of the fashion world.

While elder sister Kly, with a degree in magazine publishing, oversaw all marketing affairs, middle sister Pim created an international brand while her younger sister, Matina accompanies her working for the Sretsis accessory line. Together, the results are passionate with lasting impressions.

The collection is noted for signature quirks and the sisters’ rebellious spirits, translated onto their designs. Their individual designs both bold and bright, while at the same time dream-like and dark-humoured contrasting with a look of wide-eyed innocent taking on age old femininity.

Sretsis’ collections take inspiration from their autobiography from what captures their flight of fantasy at a certain period of time, which in turn become design manifestations on fabrics. Sretsis offers a modern twist on classic elements and clichés through proportional adjustments and carefully crafted materials.

Known for their trademark whimsical prints, Sretsis importantly emphasises their progressive textile development, seen through their avant-garde experimentations. Techniques such as embroidery and appliqué become fresh with and mischievous wits, achieving renewed and elegant perspectives.

The current summer collection, Children of the Stars, was first inspired during a spiritual activity in Bali, interacting with the interconnectivity between the universe and every living organism that both stands grounded and also moves freely. With the concepts of natural power, origins of stars in the universe, and constant binding energy transmissions, the Children of the Stars collection becomes a reminder that those who are in doubt, fear or melancholy are all connected and not alone in this universe.

The aim of the collection is a gentle reminder to locate paradise within through relaxed attitudes and nonchalant outlooks to life without forgoing an effortless composure and a passionate commitment to style.

Other designs reconnect with the theme of journeying and embracing paradise seen with the hand drawn ‘Paradise Found’ print on kimono cover-ups, loose knot details, smocking and animal patches that reinforce a breezy and also put-together feel. The “Moon Dreamers” adorned eveningwear is elegant with star shaped crystal embellishments, ruched detail and horsehair hemlines adding playfulness to tulle, knit and chiffon.  The flowing shapes and natural lines create a sense of ease in a swish of chevron fringes.
