StephieAnn A/W’15: Some Magic Rose Collection

Digitally printed from founder Stephanie Woolven’s photography and paintings, StephieAnn creates bespoke lingerie inspired by British poetry. The A/W’15 collection, ‘Some Magic Rose’ is based on the poem ‘Clown in the Moon’ by Dylan Thomas which reflects the darker tones of his writing. The signature print acts as an enchanted garden ready to be explored. Behind the intricate layers of oil paintwork, roses feature prominently entangled in ivy with each piece being carefully handmade in the Welsh Valleys using couture techniques.

Stephanie was inspired to start her business when she came across a small boutique in Florence selling lingerie made from recycled silk scarves. On her return from the trip she began creating illustrations for a lingerie and nightwear brand. The new Autumn/Winter collection focuses on ideas for knickers, shorts, camisoles, kimonos and bralettes. Stephanie represented Dylan Thomas’ everlasting love by picking flowers from her garden,  freezing the petals and then drawing and photographing the flowers capturing ice crystals and the fragile effects of melting.  They are however, still beautiful, as was Thomas’ love.
