With so many to choose from, in the UK and abroad, we dug a little deeper and discovered one a bit closer to home. StreetFest is the Uk’s No.1 urban culture festival and it’s returning bigger and better for it’s 8th year running. Alive with an eclectic mix of music, art, dance, urban sport, and fashion, StreetFest brings together artists from a huge variety of street disciplines to showcase their amazing talents for one amazing day. According to the website, StreetFest’s line-up never fails to impress, choosing inspiring acts who take a unique approach to expressing themselves and pushing their sound forward. Confirmed names for the Adidas Main Stage include DJ headliner; Kutmah, Hackney spoken word artist James Massiah, MC Loyle Carner, Hannah Faith, Shamz Le Roc and the exciting collectives; So Fresh, So Clean and Doctor’s Order Showcase. The Unsigned London Stage is about all things raw and unknown yet full of potential. Previous talents to have graced this stage include Tawiah, Shakka, DivaGeek, Shannon Sauders and one of this year’s main-stage acts, James Massiah. With confirmed rising talents such as Orph Gang, Ruinz Ason and Kemi Aneke, this year will be no different – all live, all quality. Following their success of last year’s global offerings, StreetFest will play host to over 50 internationally celebrated graffiti and street artists. This year’s art line-up includes the likes of ID crew member Tizer, graffiti artists and illustrators Gent48 and Zina, the incredible Tony Riff, TheRealDill, Jive, ZIna and Lost Souls Crew painting alongside each other. With a more diverse and bigger line-up than ever before with many flying in from all over the world, new elements will be added to the programme including workshops pairing established artists up with groups of upcoming artists. Catering for all the family, delicious street food from some of London’s most popular traders including Mamas Jerk and Churros R Us will be on-hand to offer their mouth-watering dishes to festival-goers, along with fashion brands including Dirty Rich Apparel, Captions Apparel and Ink Heart showcasing their latest collections. Interactive elements include live tattooing from Paperchase Ink, digital graffiti walls and murals, a pop-up nail bar and the Mayamada Treasure Hunt and Funzone, adding another dimension to this year’s awesome line-up. Staying true to its East London roots, StreetFest’s brand new venue – Tobacco Dock – is located on Wapping’s riverbank. With incredible quayside views, this dramatic warehouse space includes over 16,000m2 over two floors and is the perfect new home for this sell-out and ever-expanding festival. A family day pass for £35 for two adults and two children will now be available, ensuring that StreetFest’s jam-packed day of creativity and fun is accessible for everyone.
