Menswear: Summer Festival Outfit Inspiration The Editorial TeamAugust 8, 201616 viewsFashion0 Comments16 views When it comes to two stepping in mountains of mud, dealing with downpours and partying near portable toilets, dressing well can be a tough task. That being said, as this generation continues its spike in image consciousness, we have seen evidence from recent festivals such as the world renowned Coachella, that suggests it is possible to look good despite the unideal surroundings. So to give you a helping hand on what you can wear in order to remain stylish all weekend long, we’ve listed an outfit to make things a litter easier for you so you can concentrate on the more important things such as remembering your tent and beverages! The Floral Shirt Oliver Lips // Martin Bonke When it boils down to it, attending a festival means that when it comes to your attire you can be adventurous or rather, you should be. It is simply all about making that bold statement and a floral print shirt is the ultimate way to do it. Now we’re not saying buy a Hawaiian style shirt that you’d see an older chap wearing around the pool on holiday, but rather you need something with an element of sophistication. Invest in dark floral pieces, as often the bright shirts can look cheap and nasty and you’ll catch peoples eyes for all the wrong reasons. Something that’s really on trend this year is the Cuban collar. High street shops such as Topman, River Island and H&M should have you covered here as realistically you don’t want to spend fortunes on something that’s likely to get messed up. A throwback, it’s the shirt shape of the season. Keeping a dark floral trend, keeps a masculine vibe to your look and when matched subtly matched with shorts, it creates a striking silhouette for the occasion. The Hat Mohcine Aoki // Nazarii Liskovych Now unless you’ve embraced the buzz cut, headgear is essential, especially after the first day. Waking up, feeling rotten with no shower in site, means its unpractical to think you can re-do your hair to getting it looking its 9-5 best. Sports luxe baseball caps are really trending at the moment but once again, you’re at a festival so find that edge! Why not consider a fedora for this summers festival? A tailored treat, a fedora is a way to show off your personality and style. Brands like Antony Morato and Asos are kings when it comes to finding the right pick. It’s certainly not going to be everyone picks but in today society and especially at festivals, why wear what everyone else is? The Raincoat Jon The Gold // Kevin Elezaj Festivals annoyingly often prove to be unpredictable when it comes to weather. You don’t want to take a big baggy coat as typically downpours are brief and it is still strangely usually warm during the shower. Instead, you need something light but practical, which brings us to raincoats. Perfect for slotting in a bag pack without hogging all of the space, this is a reliable option that will get you through the tougher times of the weekend. We recommend looking at Scotch and Soda, Farah or Pull and Bear to find your joyous jacket. Remember you’re outfits need to match but don’t be afraid to throw in a louder colour to make the statement in the showery states. The Shoes Oli Worlds // Richy Koll This is probably the most difficult choice for any festival outfit. Today, most men are highly precious when it comes to their footwear collection. With the rise of shoe protectors, suede brushes and just general footwear care, we are not the most pleased when something threatens are feet. Now you’re going to have to accept that your shoes will most likely take a battering over the course of your festival antics but that doesn’t mean you should compromise on your style. White trainers are back but they’ll get ruined so look for affordable pairs that still offer an eye catching style. Android Homme, Ami, Vans and Asics all provide trainers that are perfect for the event as they look good and they can even be cleaned after. Once again, look to match with your outfit. Steer clear of suede and look for trainers that offer colour and comfort. The Watch Hamid Khayri // Drew Scott At some point you’re likely to run out of battery or even lose your phone (you know who you are!), that’s why it is important to take a watch to guarantee you can keep track of the time and so you know what time your favourite acts are on or when you’re meeting up with friends who’ve been off to see someone else. Leave the Breitling’s at home and take one your proud to show off but not too precious over. With this outfit we’ve suggest a traditional type watch with a leather strap such as a Daniel Wellington or U-Boat watch but if you’re wanting a more casual approach look to sportier metallic watches such as a Tissot. It’s worth noting there are watch brands out there now making watches with interchangeable straps, so if you want to mix up your style the following day, this could be your ideal solution!
