Syndicate: Odessa Series Stephanie AndersonJanuary 30, 20143 viewsdesignFashionStyle0 Comments3 views A match made in collaborative heaven, the contrasts of chic and shabby chic make a unique combination, and with the separate skill sets of the two designers, the photographer and the stylist, a new generation of fashion was born. Syndicate, a new Ukrainian brand, formed to combine the traditional values of their home country, inspiration from American heritage, and an additional factor of minimalist Scandinavian aesthetics makes their brand far from the hype of the mainstream crowd. Their fusion of working men with current street style makes every item of theirs unique and definitely desirable, and along with their traditional handicraft methods of cutting, lacing and particular attention to every detail, their clothing is high quality individual bliss. Their latest collaboration, Odessa Series, is definitely a sight for sore and bored eyes. The two minds of young designer Masha Reva and Syndicate of Kyiv had a view to create a new one, portraying the ironical luxurious looking desires of Ukrainians. On the clothing, expensive elements are displayed directly next to something you would find on a flea market, each to accentuate the other, hence providing an individual take on clothing. This contrast of items displays their view of the contemporary fashion DNA of Ukrainians’. With the look book being shot by the London based photographer, Madame Perpetie, and the stylist for the shoot being Stella Gosteva, the images that were made show the clothing in the slanted light they deserve. When you have colours in such a beautiful harmony as this, and a deep and developed meaning behind it, when buying alternative fashion, go Syndicate.
