Tata Naka A/W’16: Cluedo inspiration Evie SwitzerApril 4, 201510 viewsFashion0 Comments10 views Tata Naka’s inspiration for the A/W15’16 collection comes from the popular murder mystery genre, the classic ‘who dunnit’. As usual Tata Naka take a humorous approach to the theme by drawing from the classic board game Cluedo and mystery comedy films like ‘Clue’ and ‘Murder by Death’. This season prints are divided between three genres. Featuring Portraits created by the designers of classic Cluedo characters: Mrs Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlett, Mrs White, Reverend Green and Professor Plum all grace the surfaces of lush velvet and silk bonded neoprene. Echoing the influences of Anna May Wong and Peter Seller’s inspector Sydney Wang, Tata Naka implement this oriental influence in the shape of classic Chinese dragons in the shades of vibrant turquoise, bright corals and rich plum. Embellishments feature The ‘Cluedo’ weapons: revolver, dagger and the candlestick. These are featured as gold threaded appliqués on felted wool, silk rattan and vintage net. This season features a range of fabrics and textures including georgette, silk velvet, and wool along with a luxurious rattan. Footwear has the unmistakable stamp of Tata Naka; the classic oxford shoe updated with metallic detailing. Evie Switzer Click here to visit the website.
