The Best Lipstick Colour for Your Skin Tone Danielle MeadDecember 28, 20151489 viewsBeauty0 Comments1489 views The most used make-up product by women is lipstick. Lipstick is something that can tone down your lips so that you can pull off that sexy dark smoky eye or tone up your lips so that they are the focus of your entire look. As many of you know, testing is possibly the best way to determine if the lipstick shade is right for you. Lip colour choice is tricky and it’s never easy to find the best lipstick colour for your skin tone. Just think of the red lipstick and the many undertones. This is why some shades of red look great while others look just ok or bad. Determine Your Skin Tone You first have to determine your skin tone (find your perfect foundation shade) and your undertone shade (find your skin’s undertone) to determine what lipstick shade you will look better in. Skin tones come in various undertones, for example: cool, neutral, olive and warm. Cool Undertone Usually people with very fair skin have cool undertones. If you are one of them, then you should go more for lipsticks in nudes, pink, berries, and mauves. These shades will compliment your skin’s undertone and will “blend in” with your skin without looking strange. When it comes to reds, stick to corals or hints of orange. Warm Undertone If you have a warm or olive undertone, then warmer shades with hints of gold or coral will look amazing on you. When it comes to red, stick to pink based or cranberry based reds. Olive Undertone Like warm undertones, olive undertones are also very common. If you are one of them, then you will need to stick to lipsticks with shades or plum, raspberry, browns with red undertones. When it comes to reds, stick to pink based or cranberry based reds (same as warm undertones). Neutral Undertone Unlike cool and warm undertones, if you are one of those rare and yet strangely lucky ones, you can pull off most of the lipstick shades bought from cool and undertones. The only trick is that if you want to look fresher, and then choose cooler shades of lipstick and if you want to seem older then choose warmer undertones. Dark Skin Shades Dark skin tones like neutral undertones have two ways. One way is to choose lipsticks with more golden browns undertones (you can use the shades which are used on people with warm and olive undertones) or lipsticks with warmer red undertones. If you are into red lipsticks stick to ones with cool based or fig shades. Danielle Mead
