Whilst traversing the globe on his latest adventures, Phileas Fogg received somber news that his beloved aunt and celebrated actress, Gertrude Fogg, has passed away. Dearly beloved are invited to attend a splendid celebration of the life of the enrapturing Gertude Fogg, who was a true inspiration to Phileas. The Irish-style wake will be held at Mr Fogg’s Residence on Saturday, 31st October at precisely 7.01pm. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a selection of Aunt Gertrude’s favourite tipples, including her signature Miracle Vocal Elixir made with a heady helping of Tanqueray No. TEN gin. Much to everyone’s merriment, there will be the most delightful Victorian melodies playing throughout Mr Fogg’s humble abode. Phileas himself will share fond memories and humorous stories his late aunt’s life whilst guests share a toast in her honour before proceeding to Mr Fogg’s Tavern for the burial. Esteemed guests are encouraged to follow the horse drawn hearse to Aunt Gertrude’s prior peid-a-terre-turned-Tavern on the salubrious St. Martin’s Lane in Covent Garden, where she will be laid to rest in the cellar so that her soul may peacefully live on in imfamy over Mr Fogg’s Tavern. Guests can enjoy live tunes, delightful gin cocktails and Gertude’s signature ales to cap off the evening. The sister venue to award-winning Mayfair bar, Mr Fogg’s, Mr Fogg’s Tavern is the eighth project from Charlie Gilks and Duncan Stirling’s Inception Group, whose venues are well-loved for the conceptual themes. Based on the adventures of Jules Verne’s fictional explorer Phileas Fogg, Mr Fogg’s Tavern features an ‘upstairs downstairs’ theatrical theme with a Victorian tavern on the ground floor and a refined gin parlour and salon upstairs. Gracie Finch Hallow’s Eve at Mr Fogg’s Residence & Mr Fogg’s Tavern takes place on Saturday, 31st October 2015 at 7.01pm.
