Trend Alert: 90’s Nostalgia Sarah RidgwayApril 1, 201511 viewsFashiontrends0 Comments11 views It is said that fashion cycles about every 20 years, so get ready for a major 90’s revival. Remember the 90’s? A time before social media and next day delivery, where style inspiration was sought scouring the pages of Shout, Sugar and Mizz magazine. During these formative years we were fitted for our first pair of Clarks shoes, rolled around the mud in dungarees and was constantly applying Strawberry Chapstick. Times have changed and our 90’s staples have evolved, so get ready to get nostalgic by reworking your 90’s wardrobe. Clarks shoes are a British institution and surprisingly are the height of fashion over in Jamaica too. Orla Kiely has joined forces with Clarks and designed a fantastic new range which echoes Clark’s traditional designs, and also pays homage to the on trend 70’s trend. The Mustard “Bibi shoes” are versatile and chic, pair with a tan suede skirt and a plaid shirt. Backpacks which were once used to stuff books and gym kits into have changed beyond recognition. This leather Calvin Klein backpack offers style and convenience and is the perfect weekend bag. Dungarees have seen a massive resurgence especially after being endorsed by the likes of Alexa Chung and Cara Delevingne. They are an incredibly versatile piece and can be worn down with Converse and a Breton top, or to dress up pair with heels, a crop top and a clutch bag. Our beloved Chapstick has made way for the cult EOS Lip balm, it comes in a variety of exotic flavours encased in an extremely eye-catching ball design. This amazing vest from Truffle Shuffle will soon be the kick starter of many a sing along this summer to our favourite 90’s show “Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” Sarah Ridgway
